School Smartphone App

If you have a smartphone you can download the new Callystown N.S. Smartphone App by clicking on the link below. You will be asked if you want to bookmark it (Android) or save to your Apps (IPhone). Included in the App so far are school closures and contact details. It will be developed further.




Our annual Skipathon will be held on Wednesday October 24th. The funds we raise will be put towards the new Sports Hall. A generous response would be greatly appreciated. 

First Communicants

Congratulations to all the children in Callystown’s 2nd Classes who celebrated their First Communion on Saturday 12th May. Many thanks to their parents and their teachers Ms. O’Kane and Mr. Gallagher for helping them prepare for their special day.

Christmas Raffles

The Parent’s Council are organizing two raffles this year with great prizes
for both.

Children’s Raffle: Prizes on display in the entrance hall of the school – tickets sold on the next four Fridays 1 for 50c, 5 for €2

Adult Raffle: Great money and Hamper prizes. We are asking each family
to sell two books of tickets. 1 ticket €1 – Book of 6 for €5 .

1st Prize Christmas Hamper and €100

2nd Prize Christmas Hamper and €50

3rd Prize Christmas Hamper and €25

Hosanna Rock Christmas Carol Service

Hosanna Rock Carol Service

The carol service will take place on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th December at 7pm in St. Michael’s Church, Clogherhead.

Tuesday night will involve the classes of:

Ms. Reilly, Ms. Brodigan, Ms. Kelledy, Ms. Slevin, Mr. Crosbie, Ms. Deery,
Ms. McClean and Ms. Clayton’s 5th Class.

Wednesday night will involve the classes of:

Mrs. Greene, Ms. O’Kane, Ms. Boylan, Mr. Crosbie, Ms. Deery, Ms. Clayton’s
6th class and Ms. King.

“Actors and the choir will be needed on both nights.’’

Victory for Callystown N.S.

Congratulations to Callystown Girls who won the Division 1 County Football Final in a very exciting match. A big well done to Ms. Deery and all the girls!





Be safe at Hallowe’en

We hope all the children in Callystown N.S. enjoy the fun of Hallowe’en.

We encourage them all to be careful and make wise choices about safety at a time that can be potentially dangerous.

New Board of Management

A new Board of Managemant for Callystown N.S. is to be formed before 1st December, 2011. In order to nominate two parents (one male, one female) on to the Board, a meeting will be held in the school on Tuesday, October 25th at 7.30 p.m.

Recycle Clothes and Phones

Please bring your old clothes and phones to the school on the week of October 24th – 28th.  A special election day collection will be held in the school, so please tell your family, friends and neighbours, so they can drop off their unwanted old clothes and phones when they come to vote. Thank you.

Presidential Election in Callystown N.S.

Children from 2nd to 6th Class voted for the candidates running in the upcoming Presidential Election. The results are very interesting and certainly don’t tally with what the polls in the media are telling us!
